Terraviiva is a pottery shop based on a production of hand made tiles. The founder, Minna Komulainen, had first studied foreign languages (French as her major), and worked within the field of communications, as she determined to pursue her dream and study ceramics. Now, the production is completely based on tiles, which is quite new in the field of finnish handicrafts. Contrary to the southern european tradition, it is not common to use hand made tiles in kitchens and bathrooms. Having seen the use of tiles in  Mediterranean countries, Komulainen firmly believes that hand made tiles would give a new look to finnish kitchen walls as well. She loves the Mediterranean colours but the use of black and white glazes with certain harmonious motifs gives them a fresh nordic touch.
